10 Companies That Export the Most Goods from the U.S.

In 2017, American companies exported more than 1.5 trillion dollars' worth of products. These came from a wide range of industries, but the following 10 export companies in the United States sold the most, according to iContainers and World's Top Experts.

Intel

Semiconductor company Intel, whose stickers you see on many laptops, made $113.3 billion in export sales in 2017. This represented a 7.4-percent increase on takings in the year before.

Procter & Gamble specializes in household and personal care products. In 2017, it shipped 117 billion dollars' worth of them around the world, down by 9.4 percent from the year before.

Cisco Systems

Communications equipment manufacturer Cisco Systems sold 126.2 billion dollars' worth of goods in 2017. And this represented an increase of 12.1 percent from the year before.

Specializing in medical equipment and supplies, Johnson & Johnson's exports are in high demand around the world. In 2017, it made $141.2 billion in export sales, which is an increase of 5.8 percent on 2016.

Pfizer

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer is one of the largest chemical companies in the USA. It made $176.1 billion in 2017, up by 5.1 percent on 2016's export sales. The company is headquartered in New York City, but has operations around the globe.

General Motors

Alongside Ford, General Motors is one of the biggest automotive manufacturers in America. Based in Detroit, Michigan, it made $221.7 billion in export sales in 2017, increasing 14 percent from 2016.

Ford Motor

Although Ford's gains were relatively minor, it still made more in export sales than General Motors in 2017. The $238 billion sales represented an increase of 5.8 percent on the year before.

Chevron

Oil and gas company Chevron hasn't had the best of times. Its export sales in 2017 were down by 2.3 percent from the year prior. They amounted to $260.1 billion in total, which is still a pretty decent figure.

ExxonMobil

ExxonMobil is another fossil fuel company whose export sales took a hit. Its 2017 takings of $330.3 billion, though considerably more than Chevron's, represented a 1.9-percent downsizing from the year before.

Although based in Cupertino, California, Apple would not be the giant that it is without low-cost labor overseas. Its global dominance scored it $331.1 billion in 2017, up by 12.9 percent from 2016.
